On October 22nd 2011, various cities throughout the world will celebrate the International Day of Action for Trans Depathologization.

The main goals of the campaign are  the removal of the categories of “gender dysphoria” / “gender identity disorders” from the diagnosis manuals (DSM of the American Psychiatric Association and ICD of the World Health Organization), whose newly revised versions are due in 2013 and 2015, as well as the fight for trans health rights.

This campaign publicly denounces the psychiatrization of trans identities and the serious consequences of the so called “Gender Identity Disorders” (GID). In the same way, it wants to make visible the violence done to intersex people throughout the current medical procedures.
